Silence the Messenger
Acting to suppress certain mRNAs [the message read off from a DNA sequence as a protein begins to be made] associated with cell movement, the protein tristetraprolin (TTP) thereby inhibits tumour invasion. The study also reveals that doxorubicin – the commonly used breast cancer chemotherapy drug – acts beneficially by increasing levels of TTP
