This study identifies a protein called MGAT1 as underlying triple-negative breast cancer cells' ability to avoid immune recognition. MGAT1 causes an increase in another protein, CD73 (seen here in green), on the membrane of the cancer cells which dampens attack by the immune system's CD8+ T-cells
