Portentous Path

A form of cell death called necroptosis causes inflammation and contributes to disease in a wide range of tissues but detecting its occurrence is difficult. Here, new approaches using immunohistochemical methods in sections of tissue (such as is routinely carried out for diagnosis on biopsy material) detect markers of the necroptosis pathway which could allow patients to be identified for targeted therapy
