Solving Bone Dissolving

In a process governed by hormones and blood calcium levels, our bones are constantly being remodelled by cells building bone (osteoblasts) and cells dissolving bone (osteoclasts). This study finds that a structure of microtubules – cell inner scaffolding proteins – at the envelope around the nucleus is essential for osteoclast's bone resorption function and is regulated by an enzyme called AKAP6
