A freelance communications consultant and writer, Mick specialises in science and education. A science graduate and award-winning print and broadcast journalist, he was Head of Communications at Newcastle University from 2000–2011.
As a PhD student at Edinburgh University’s Roslin Institute, Gwen is investigating the role of the immune system in a disease called scrapie. She has previously written for the Edinburgh University science magazine, EUSci.
With a degree in Physics, Susan spent a decade in print journalism, including at New Scientist and The Independent newspaper, then moved into broadcasting. She is a former Head of Communications and Public Engagement at the MRC LMS.
Julie began her career as a researcher in genetics. In 2000 she won a Wellcome Trust award for her work on a collaborative science drama, staged at the Edinburgh Festival. She now works as a freelance science writer and communicator.
Since completing his degree in microbiology and virology at Warwick University, Fred has studied law. Fred enjoys writing about biomedical innovation and follows legal developments surrounding our advancing understanding of biology.
