Errors in development of lymphatic vessels – the body-wide immune system and fluid drainage highway– cause debilitating complex disorders. A mutated variant of the Kras gene called KrasG12D, which is also implicated in cancer, underlies lymphatic vessel abnormalities, and here KrasG12D is revealed to drive two distinct pathways that cause abnormal lymphatic vessel enlargement or disruption of lymphatic valve formation.
