The Other Vessels
Our more covert vessel network the lymphatics may lack the blood system's attention-grabbing colour but is no less widely distributed or vital to life. Returning leaked fluid back to the blood as well as transporting the itinerant members of and connecting the immune system, lymphatic vessels have been understudied. Here researchers uncover subsets of lymphatic vessel lining and valve cells in the skin by analysing gene activity (single-cell RNA sequencing) and with 3D imaging
